Collecting Donations for The Ballard Food Bank

Gold Leaf, the producers of Aloha Friday would like to spread aloha this giving season by leading a collaborative effort to donate requested goods to local shelters and food banks. Dockside will host donation bins in all of our stores for the month of December and collected items will be delivered to the Ballard Food Bank at the beginning of January. Accepted Donations Include:  Non-expired, non-perishable food items (pull top items are preferred for canned goods).  Household supplies like unopened toiletries and personal hygiene items, and pet supplies Clothing such as new socks, new underwear, gloves and beanies (for all ages!) Please no glass jars. The Ballard Food Bank expanded with a brand-new facility in October 2021 in response to the growing need for services. Last year, the Ballard Food Bank donated 2.7 million pounds of food to the Seattle community.  Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, they averaged about 3,200 visits and deliveries per month. Post-pandemic, that average is up to more than 7,000 and climbing with the onset of winter. Other services provided by the Ballard Food Bank include: Community resource hub Housing assistance Mail collection Health and veterinary clinics Kindness Café serving up to 400 people per day Home delivery to those in need Thank you in advance for helping to make our shared community a better place for all!
