2018 was a busy, challenging, and excellent year for Dockside! Here’s a fond look back to some of our favorite memories of last year, as we move into 2019…
Two New Stores!
The Dockside Cannabis family grew from two stores to four last year! We’re beyond grateful for the warm welcome both of our new locations have received from their neighborhoods. May 17th saw us opening the doors of our Ballard shop for the first time; just after that on July 30th we opened our Dockside Express in the Greenlake/Greenwood area! Each of these new additions to our family has its own unique character, staff, and product assortment – and we’re so proud to have the opportunity to share them with you. If you haven’t been to one of our newer shops yet, we’ll look forward to seeing you soon.
CityArts’ Future List Party!
In January 2018, Dockside was one of the sponsors of CityArts magazine’s Future List party for the second year in a row. This party was a huge celebration of up-and-coming artists local to Seattle, and we had a great time spending an evening with so many talented creatives! Dockside’s lounge was a throwback to smoking seshes through the ages, offering living room sets from the 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s. We loved giving people a place hang out, unwind, have snacks, and chat with friends. We also had some fun DIY crafts like painting pet rocks, button making, and more! It was such a blast getting to celebrate artists and share that time with the community.
Dockside’s Best Buds Party!
This October, after the thrill of opening two brand-new stores was settling down, we realized it was time to say thank you to all of our amazing customers and friends who have supported us through the years – so we threw our biggest party yet! That Saturday, you could find people at all four of our stores grilling hot dogs, sharing stories, and making friends. We also had friendly faces join us from some of Dockside’s partner brands, who offered specials on awesome products. We also invited people to bring their pets and offered a free pet photo booth – and it was so much fun. We’re so thankful for everyone who came out to spend time with us that day, and to those who bring their furry friends (and scaly!) in to visit us regularly.
Inaugural Hash-A-Palooza!
At Dockside, we believe there is value in all concentrates, and that each has its place in the wide world of cannabis. …But we also felt as though people can often overlook hashish, the original cannabis concentrate. In November, we did our best to remedy that by celebrating our first annual HASH-A-PALOOZA! With an article in the Seattle Times (click here to read it!) and in-store meet & greets with local hash producers, we offered as much insight to why hash matters as we could… and we topped that off with deals on all of the hash we carry! It was an honor to be able to provide quality products from some local extract artists like Jeff the Cannabis Reverend of Puffin Farm, Jerry Whiting of LeBlanc CNE, and the team at Seattle Bubble Works who were trained by legendary hash maker Frenchy Cannoli. Stay tuned to see what we come up with for our second Palooza!
Holiday Gift Guide!
For 2018’s holiday season, we created a 12-page catalogue of gift ideas to share with the cannabis lovers in your life, and it was great sharing some of our favorite items with our customers and friends! We love building new cannabis-themed traditions, and we are already looking forward to the great things coming in 2019.
We’d like to thank everyone who chose to spend time with us in 2018! It was a crazy year, full of nonstop action – and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. Happy New Year, everyone!
